Finished series that I want to read and have started but not yet finished? What is that? What does that even mean?!
I'm a binge reader! If I like a series, I'll read a book, sometimes two, a day until I finish it. I just can't help myself. Seriously, I don't understand all you people who can just take a year long break in the middle of a series when I can't even take a nap between books because SLEEP IS FOR THE WEAK and no thanks, I don't need food, really, my stomach can just eat itself.
But also, on a saner note, I like to notice and remember all those little details that make the sequels so good. I'm that person who counts down the days for my preorders to arrive and rereads all the other books again in preparation just so I can get the full effect. And since I'm currently in the middle of seven different incomplete series, I've made a vow not to start any new series until they're done (a vow I've already broken, but nevermind that).
Anyway, that was my long-winded way of saying I've made a list of series I've read this year, some incomplete ones I'm currently in the middle of (mostly because I'd love to find someone who's also reading them and can fangirl with me!) and some I've finished.

10. The Maze Runner by James Dashner
This YA dystopian series really took me by surprise! I had low expectations but ended up enjoying the books and getting far more into them than I thought I would. My reviews will be up on Friday since I just read them, so check back š
9. The Eden Trilogy by Keary Taylor
I really liked this YA post-apocalyptic series with a kind of new twist on zombies that made them cyborgs instead of undead. I never like zombie books, but it wasn’t like that at all. These books were about the characters, and they really packed a punch.
8. The Paper Magician by Charlie N. Holmberg
This historical urban fantasy didn’t end quite as strongly as it started, but my love for the main character’s love interest, Emery, carried me through and made it worthwhile.
7. Knight Games by Genevieve Jack
This adult paranormal romance/urban fantasy was full of action, mystery, AND a female protagonist I will never stop obsessing over. You can find my reviews for Knight Games here on my blog.
6. The Incubus Saga by Amanda Meuwissen
This paranormal M-M romance/urban fantasy is one of my favorites, so don’t be surprised if it comes up my lists often! You can also find my reviews for The Incubus Saga here on my blog.
5. The Vampire Chronicles by Anne Rice
I didn’t read this this year, but I’m including it anyway because I need to vent my frustration. I read Books 1-12 in high school. That was all that was out. They’re all sitting pretty on my bookshelf in the next room. Then, six years after I finish the series, Anne Rice has to go and write another one! And it’s like, I have to read it because, the whole series, you know?! But I don’t remember anything from the other books. And my tastes have changed, so I just don’t see myself rereading all 12 books. It’s a real problem.
4. Thieves by Lexi Blake
I may or may not be currently reading the spin-off series because I’m completely in love with one of the side characters from the original series who is now the kind-of boyfriend of the new main character, and I can’t stand to miss a single scene that he is in even though he seems to hardly be in the books. The things we do for our favorite characters…
3. Creepy Hollow by Rachel Morgan
Much like the above, the first three books in this YA faerie-filled fantasy focused on one character, so in a way part of the series is complete, but now there’s a new main character. Even though I don’t like her quite as much, I still can’t help but keep reading.
2. Steel & Stone by Annette Marie
I do read YA sometimes, but I rarely love it as much as adult books. This YA urban fantasy series, however, is so ridiculously amazing that it immediately skyrocketed to one of my favorite series ever, and I can’t wait for more books even though I never really want it to end.
1. Ink by Bella Roccaforte
This character-driven paranormal suspense series isn’t very well-known, but it was the series that made me realize how awesome self-published books can be. This is my most anticipated book of the year. I’ve been waiting for the finale since January 4th, JANUARY 4TH, when I read Books 3 and 4 in one day.

I’m really interested in reading The Paper Magician… admittedly because of its pretty cover but still! It looks like something I would enjoy. The Maze Runner is one I’ve been unsure about starting, probably because of the hype and I felt sure I’d be disappointed! Really enjoyed this list! š
I’m pretty sure the cover is the reason I read the first Paper Magician book lol, but then I ended up liking it. I really thought I wouldn’t like The Maze Runner because I don’t often like the really popular series, but they impressed me. I say go for it, you can always stop after the first one if you don’t like it!

I enjoyed the first Maze Runner, but haven’t finished the series. I might have to revisit the first before continuing though. I quite enjoyed the movie.
I haven’t seen the movie, and I have this thing where I don’t see movies after reading the books they’re based on, but a little part of me is tempted this time because I can picture it making a good movie. Just be ready to hit the ground running when you start the second book! It’s a lot more action-packed.

We binge readers gotta stick together! I actually didn’t love The Hunger Games :-/ But I read all three books and did get more into it as the series went on.
I don’t like it at all when authors write a new book for a series years after the last one of said series.
I’ve binge read the hunger games because I bought them all in a little box, but I’m not sure if I’ll reread them.
Right? That annoys me, too, to think I’m done and move on only to find out I’m not, or just have to wait that long in general. I feel like people who buy box sets must be brave lol. I always read the first book in a series before deciding whether to continue.
I think I’d check out the Paper Magician someday soon. I wish my mantra is similar to yours, but I need sleep and I need a lot of it XD I also read the Vampire Chronicles and I was shocked that Prince Lestat came out. I read it and, well, it’s a 50/50 for me. My review is over here if you want to check it out. I honestly think the series ended with Blood Canticle, even if it wasn’t the best of endings.
Yeah, I often end up regretting the whole no-sleep thing when it happens. I will definitely check out your review as soon as I finish this comment. I seriously am torn and need all the help I can get in deciding whether or not to read this book, haha. I think I might just say to hell with all the details I’ve forgotten and go for it. I still remember Lestat. That’s what counts, right? š
I was a little disappointed in The Hunger Games and Divergent, Which leads me to believe that maybe dystopian isn’t for me – but I still intend to try The Maze Runner as I loved the movie adaptation.
I didn’t like The Hunger Games and am not liking Divergent so far, but I still like the genre, so it could just be that you didn’t like those series. If you’re a character person, check out The Eden Trilogy by Keary Taylor (also on my list). I guess it’s more post-apocalyptic, but I loved it.
I wasn’t overly impressed with The Maze Runner Trilogy myself (well, I really loved the Scorch Trials)…but I can’t wait for the movie!
