The Weekly Update: 1/29/17

There was some crazy weather earlier this week! 26mph winds. Tornado warnings. Freaking tornado warnings. I don’t live somewhere that gets tornadoes. As a kid, the idea of tornadoes completely terrified me because I always felt like, what do you even do? Where do you go? You can’t prepare for that! But seriously, I’m used to rain, thunderstorms, whatever. But where the hell did all this, just, wind come from??

But also, in even more exciting news, I totally relived a piece of my childhood! When I was a kid, I used to play so many computer games—The Sims, Catz/Dogz/Babiez, this one that had a parrot you talked to with a microphone, Rollercoaster Tycoon, Zoo Tycoon, Hotel Giant (I really liked building and running businesses, apparently)—but probably the strangest one was Theme Hospital. The game came out in 1997, but it turns out they still sell it, and it was only like $5, so I bought it, and I played it for the first time in like 15 years! And it was literally exactly the same, terrible graphics and all, not some updated/new version. Oh the nostalgia! But it’s also really fun! Well, for a short time at least, though it’s probably going to get old soon lol. Basically, you just run hospitals, which doesn’t sound fun, but you’ll have to take my word for it if you’ve never played. There’s a building, and you create different rooms and put the necessary equipment in them, hire doctors/nurses/handymen, put benches and things in the common areas, buy more buildings to expand, keep employees happy with bonuses and salary increases, keep machines running smoothly so they don’t break, make decisions when emergencies and situations arise, etc. And you have to meet certain goals in order to get to the next level, and then you start over in a new, bigger hospital with more ailments and whatnot. I hate hospitals in real life, but I guess, because the game is so silly and doesn’t take itself seriously at all, it doesn’t freak me out. I mean, the patients have ailments like “bloaty head” in which their head is inflated and it has to be popped and then reinflated to the right size. And when you go to hire employees, it gives you the weirdest info about them, like how they like to heckle comedians and random things like that. And since you can’t pause the game, you’re always so busy managing everything, building rooms, checking notifications, etc., that you don’t even have a moment to think. Anyway, 90s computer games are the best lol.

Blog/Bookish Updates:

I tried something new this week—reading two books at the same time! And I hated it. Lol. But I managed. It’s just that there are some times when an ebook is better (like reading in bed), but paperbacks are better for my tennis elbow and also easier on my eyes (I get eye strain on occasion which isn’t a huge deal but it makes my whole body just not feel good). So that means sometimes I’ll just have to have one of each going.

Books I Received for Review:

Just this little signed beauty from Chamber Press. Isn’t that a gorgeous cover?

Swallow You Whole by Jasper Black

What? No. Of course I didn’t choose my clothes based on what would match my book just so I could get a pretty picture of it. Pshh. NO, YOU’RE CRAZY.

But I’m actually down to just 14 review copies, guys! 14! And the next deadline isn’t until March! That means I’ve got some time to read some other books I’ve been wanting to read.

Books I Finished:

Swallow You Whole by Jasper Black | reading, books
Emerald Bound by Teresa Richards | reading, books
Black-Winged Tuesday by A.B. Rayn | reading, books

Swallow You Whole was fun. I basically just spent the whole day reading that one since I needed a break from the computer and I was enjoying the book. Emerald Bound wasn’t as good. There was too much that just didn’t make sense, and I just didn’t feel invested. I also had a lot of issues with Black-Winged Tuesday, which was a shame because there were certain things I really liked.

Song of the Week:

No song this week.

In Case You Missed It:

– I shared book covers featuring Big Ben.
– I reviewed The Boy in Her Dreams by Laekan Zea Kemp, a heart-wrenching second book in a dark YA paranormal.
– I reviewed A Face without a Heart by Rick R. Reed, a modern version of The Picture of Dorian Gray.
– I reviewed Swallow You Whole by Jasper Black, a gory yet funny urban fantasy/horror-ish book about demons.

I remember Rollercoaster Tycoon! 90’s games are awesome- i remember playing on eof the Civ games and it’s sooo addicting. It literally eats hours of your life. Your hospital game sounds the same way. “bloaty head?” lol. that made me laugh. πŸ™‚

Tornadoes? We get ’em here in the summer, I remember being scared as a kid once when we had a bad tornado warning and m,y parents werent home- I don’t remember who was watching me- but I kept watching the skies. Scared the crap out of me ha ha.

I’m not one for two books either. I mean I’ll do it (and this week I was reading Freeks and Mercy Thonpson at same time) but I don’t like it- I’d rather concentrate on one. Too bad about Emerald Bound- I like that cover. πŸ™‚

    1. Kristen Burns

Rollercoaster Tycoon was awesome! I actually do have a more recent version that I bought some years ago but then I never ended up getting back into it. I was too busy with my true love, The Sims lol. But yes, this hospital game does eat hours of your life despite being relatively simple and repetitive.

Yikes. My family used to go to Iowa on vacation every year and I remember my parents telling me to get in the bathtub if a tornado ever came while I was staying at my grandma’s house, and idk the possibility always just terrified me.

Apparently lots of people read multiple books at once, some people read like ten, but I also prefer to just really sink into one at a time. Two is at least doable. Any more than that, nope! I like that cover too!

      1. Greg

I would play Rollercoaster Tycoon again! I should look and see if they have an updated version- although it wouldn’t be the same. πŸ™ I never played The Sims, but I love just running all that kind of stuff, it’s fun. πŸ™‚

The bathtub is what they always told us too. That never seemed very reassuring…

        1. Kristen Burns

They’re definitely still making new and improved Rollercoaster Tycoon games.

Yeah, I’m not really clear on how a bathtub is going to save me lol. My grandpa and some of my uncles at least had basements.

  2. Jackie

I’m the same way. I don’t like reading more than one book at a time. I like finishing what I start before I go on to something else. It’s not fair for either me or the book to get overlooked. πŸ™‚
I love your blog. The font is fun and looks great. Have a great week!

    1. Kristen Burns

That’s exactly how I feel! I’m not able to sink into the story as well when I jump back and forth, and that doesn’t seem fair to me or the book.

Thanks! You have a great week too πŸ™‚

  3. Maureen Beatrice

Oow Computer Games! Sims, Rollercoaster Tycoon.. Sigh.. that’s definitely nostalgia! I used to play that to all the time. So much fun. I never played Theme Hospital but it sounds like fun. I would have loved that since I loved everything about hospitals! Made sense I became a nurse I guess! LOL!
Swallow You Whole looks really pretty.
Have a great week and happy reading!

    1. Kristen Burns

Right?! I still play the Sims, but now I’m playing The Sims 3. I can only imagine how nostalgic it’d feel to play the original. You’d probably love Theme Hospital though! I think you hospital lovers are a rare breed, so it does make sense you became a nurse!

      Thanks, you too πŸ™‚

  4. chucklesthescot

When the Atari system came out my family would sit and play Pac Man for hours! My dad loves Asteroids and Space Invader too. Then in the late 80’s I had a computer game system and I played Shark Hunter and Chuckie Egg like something obsessed. I never took much to SNES and stuff in the 90’s but when I decided on a whim to get a PS2, I discovered the fun of Crash Bandicoot while my dad found the shooter games like Medal of Honour or Call of Duty! He still plays the games on his consoles but I prefer to read. I would like to find time for some gaming but I can’t see it happening anytime soon!

    1. Kristen Burns

Haha, nice! I had one of those original NES, and my grandma still has one in her house. I eventually got a PS2 but all I ever played was Dance Dance Revolution and karaoke and then for a short while I had some random gymnastics game lol. But yeah, most of my time is taken up by reading and blogging, don’t even have time for The Sims lately!

  5. sjhigbee

Glad Swallow You Whole was good, given it had such a snazzy cover:). My word – you’re down to 14 review copies?? I lost the plot and find I’ve got 9 that need reviewing in February alone:(. Which means there’ll be no room for anything else! The snag is they are all awesome authors… what can you do? Hope the tennis elbow eases up sometime soon – I know it can be really painful. Have a good week. My Sunday Post – https://sjhigbee.wordpress.com/2017/01/29/sunday-post-29th-january-2017/

    1. Kristen Burns

Thanks! Hahaha guess you have a lot of reading ahead of you. I love review copies, I do, but it’s also nice to read other books sometimes. Thank you, it’s still coming and going, a constant battle kinda thing unfortunately.

  6. Michelle

I always think about Oregon Trail, I used to play that game for HOURS. I wish the Apple would rerelease the original, I am itching to play again. I used to play another game, it was like a tile game but I can’t remember the name of it at all. Those old games are always the best. I also love The Sims. I recently found a game that was similar to the old farming games called Stardew Valley, very addiciting, need to spend some more time playing that again. You now made me want to play video games πŸ™‚ lol

I have tired and I have failed…I can not read two books at the same time, I get so confused and I just can’t. I might be able to do a audio and a book but even that sort of confuses me because audio books and me don’t mix well. I can’t concentrate for that long. πŸ™‚

Have a great week, Kristen! Happy Reading!
PS I am LOVED those book covers! Enjoy them!

    1. Kristen Burns

How could I have forgotten Oregon Trail on my list?! I even had others, like Yukon Trail. Can’t remember the other locations. I would so play Oregon Trail again just for the nostalgia. I still play The Sims, albeit The Sims 3 at the moment. Do you still play? Some games are just so addicting lol.

I’ve been seeing so many people talk about how they read lots of books once lately, I’m surprised to find so many people are actually like me!

      Thanks, you too!

  7. Drangonfly

Holy Hell, K tornado warnings? πŸ™ 60s in winter here in New England, tornado warnings in no tornado area… very concerning. πŸ™

I’m sorry you were so worried. I would have been too. That’s why I started to learn about preparedness πŸ™ [A downside of reading too much apocalyptic I guess πŸ™ ] I actually scheduled a discussion post about all the survival skills I learned reading apocalyptic that will come up in February πŸ™‚

I love vintage gaming too! πŸ™‚ I never heard of Theme Hospital it does sound fun. I find anything related to hospitals very intriguing and you are right… a little freaky too πŸ™‚ . Glad this one didn’t freak you out. Though β€œbloaty heads” that have to be “popped and then reinflated to the right size” still sounds pretty freaky LOL so there is something a little off in that brain of yours K

HAHAHA funny you mentioned formats and hating reading two books today since my Sunday post today is about formats and why I read FIVE at the same time πŸ™‚

LOL YOU COULD TOTALLY JOIN ME IN MY NEW BOOKSTAGRAM OBSESSION now that you are choosing what to wear based to match the book you are photographing BECAUSE I DO THINK THAT IS WHAT YOU DID ;-P and yes I’m crazy but that’s not the reason. I JUST know you did πŸ˜›

    1. Kristen Burns

Seriously, it is concerning, isn’t it? And now it’s random in the 50s at night here and gonna be in the 40s one night even! I can’t handle that! Your post sounds fun though, looking forward to it πŸ™‚

I think maybe the freakiness of the hospital setting is part of the game’s charm πŸ˜‰ There’s definitely something a little off in my brain, haha, but you’re friends with me, so what does that say about you?

I just visited your post a bit earlier πŸ™‚

Ugh no, I’m actually terrible at Bookstagram. A picture of the book is my lap is all I got. That’s the only type of photo I can take lol.

  8. Samantha

I love discovering old games from my childhood!! There was a playstation game my friends and I played. A couple of years ago, one of them asked me about it, and I was determined to find it again. We had a whole retro day, playing that game.

  9. Stephanie

I remember Rollercoaster Tycoon!!! I don’t remember the hospital one but I had a friend who played the rollercoaster one and it looked SO addictive. I’m not even a gamer and I could’ve gotten into that. As for tornadoes–Nashville gets tornadoes and they don’t build homes with basements here anymore. How dumb is that?! There really is nowhere to go. You just go to the center of your house, hunker down in a closet, and hope for the best.

    1. Kristen Burns

Rollercoaster Tycoon was so much fun! I’m not a gamer either in the conventional sense, it was just those kinds of games and the only game I play now is The Sims. Yikes, if I lived somewhere with tornadoes, I would definitely want a basement! I have family in Iowa, and most of them have basements.

  10. Lampshade Reader

I have a sick fascination with tornadoes. I’m scared of them, but yet, I love watching nature shows about them. I’ve even had nightmares about them since I was a kid. But I’m glad you are okay.

That hospital game sounds funny. I’m more of a role playing game girl; like Final Fantasy. It’s been around since the early 90s. πŸ™‚ The older games make me feel nostalgic and I re-play those every now and then.

Hope you have a great week! ~Aleen

    1. Kristen Burns

Lol I think we all probably have some sort of fascination like that with something. And thanks, I don’t think there ended up actually being any tornadoes, just the warning.

It is a funny game. Very strange. I’ve never even tried any of those rp games like Final Fantasy to be honest.

      Thanks, same to you!

  11. S. J. Pajonas

We recently got a set of old Atari games that we can play on the Playstation, and they soooooo remind me of my childhood. I wish I could get Oregon Trail. “You have died of dysentery.” Lol. I’m not sure I ever actually made it to Oregon.

    1. Kristen Burns

Sounds awesome! And I totally forgot to include Oregon Trail on my list! I had numerous other ones too, like Yukon Trail. I don’t think I made it to the end of any of them lol.

  12. Lola

I hope you don’t get a tornado. I also think tornado’s sound frightening, we usually don’t get those here. But strong winds can be scary as well too, I remember a year or so ago when we had a few days with very strong winds and trees fell over and such.

That’s great you played one of your childhood games again. I am pretty sure my boyfriend also played theme hospital and bought it again a few years ago. You can still buy a lot of those older games. Especially older pc games are still available to buy now. I replayed Banjo Kazooie a few years ago, it was one of my favorite games and it was so nostalgic to replay it. A spiritual successor of that game will be released this year and I am so excited for it!
I also hate hospitals in real life, so not sure if I would like that game, but it does sound like they give a bit of a silly twist on it.

I always read two books at the same time, but I do keep them separate sort of which works for me. One book i read on my ipad during my breakfast and lunch and breaks during the day. And the other I only read before going to sleep. Most of the times they are different genres too, but I am so sued to it by now I can also read the same genre.

Great picture! That’s nice you got to match your clothes with the book. And it is a pretty book cover. Glad to hear the book was good too. And only 14 review copies left, I wish I could ever get that low. But for now I would be happy if I could stay consistently below the 100. Although i still blame most of those books on being too easy with accepting books when i just started blogging. I am doing reasonable well keeping up with new review books I get. Have a great week!

    1. Kristen Burns

Thanks, it was just the one night, so I’m safe πŸ™‚ But yes, even just the winds were freaking me out a bit because of my big sliding glass doors.

Haha it’s such a weird but fun game! I haven’t been able to find any of the other older PC games I played though :-/ Well, they’re still making new versions of Rollercoaster Tycoon and obviously The Sims, but that’s all I’ve found.

A lot of people read multiple books at once. Different genres probably helps. But all the books I read are SFF so it doesn’t give me much option for genres to be that much different lol.

Thanks! Lol yes I think I might be doing a little better than you with my number of review copies πŸ˜› But I think going crazy accepting books in the beginning is why most people end up with so many. I just never went through that phase and was always pretty choosy. Probably because of my indecision and how I overanalyze every decision I make lol. Thanks, you too!

  13. suzanna

Tornado’s sound really scary – we don’t get many here in Wales πŸ™‚
I remember getting addicted to the Sims one Christmas – never touch computer games now. Although I laughed at ‘bloaty head’.
I don’t like the eyes on Swallow You Whole. Are they rolling inside his head? Hey, maybe he has bloaty head too lol.
Good work on the review copies. Having 14 left to read would make me cry, although I do have some myself that I should get round to.
    Have a good week.

    1. Kristen Burns

They do sound scary! I’ve never actually experienced one, thankfully.

Haha, I still love The Sims, albeit the newer versions.

Lol I think his eyes just look more sarcastic. Although now that I’m looking at the small version, I can see your issue. It looks better in real size where you can see the detail and color. But if he had bloaty head, he’d look like this πŸ˜›

Wait, having 14 would make you cry in a good way or a bad way? Lol

      Thanks, you too πŸ™‚

      1. suzanna

Oh yes, that’s a serious case of bloaty head.
Having 14 review books would make me cry in a good way. Having no time to read them would make me sob in a bad way.

  14. Becky @ A Fool's Ingenuity

OMG, I love Theme Hospital. I mean, that game sucks you in and then 5 hours later you realise you’ve not seen daylight or spoken to people and you begin to wonder how it happened when you only put it on to play for a little while It is definitely one of those games you play obsessively and then don’t look at for a while. I love all the bloaty head people. I never got far enough to get some of the really weird diseases (I mean, stranger than slack tongue).

Very cool new book, loved the review, and there is nothing wrong with matching your outfit to your book. Totally normal attitude to have. I also hate reading two books at once, but sometimes you can’t take that really good hardback book with you to read on your commute so you read something else on your Kindle and somehow you’re trying to keep two books on the go but how do you decide which to read when you’re back home? It’s a confusing experience but I only do it occasionally, like if I’m doing a buddy read.

    1. Kristen Burns

AHHHHH someone else who’s actually played! Idk anyone else who’s played Theme Hospital lol (then again, I suppose I’ve never actually asked). But yes, it’s totally one of those games that sucks you in like that. But that’s also how the Sims is. You either play for 10 straight hours and forget to eat for days in a row or you go weeks without playing at all. I think I’m on level 6 of 12. Idk how much weirder the diseases actually get. Bloaty head and slack tongue are still the weirdest lol.

Thanks! And good, I’m glad my fellow bookworms get me πŸ˜› Matching books and outfits is totally normal. And yes, exactly, reading two books at once isn’t my preferred method but it’s necessary sometimes.

      1. Becky @ A Fool's Ingenuity

Please, Theme Hospital and the Sims was basically my childhood. I played both obsessively and loved every second. I never got quite as into Theme Park, it just wasn’t as absorbing as running a hospital for some strange reason. I have lost entire weekends to the Sims before. I still sometimes load it up when there’s a long weekend and just play. I can never quite bring myself to uninstall just in case.

        1. Kristen Burns

Haha, you and I had the same childhood. But do you play newer versions like The Sims 2/3/4? Or do you sill have the original? I would so pay money just to play the original again for pure nostalgia reasons.

          1. Becky @ A Fool's Ingenuity

Funny story, our old dog actually ate our copy of the original Sims (he also ate the computer, he had a bit of a destructive streak when left unattended) I’m stuck playing Sims 2. I like it better than 3 and 4 and I’m not sure why.

            1. Kristen Burns

Ok, wait, what?? How does a dog eat a computer??? I’m still playing Sims 3 though because that’s my favorite, I especially love the open world. And I still have so many things I haven’t done yet. Plus, this way, by the time I’m ready to move on to 4, all the expansions will be cheap lol, and there’ll be lots of custom content and mods.

              1. Becky @ A Fool's Ingenuity

Through strong will and determination. He also ate part of the plaster off of one of the walls in our house. He was a destructive force. And I do love that aspect of Sims 3, I love all the different ways you can play the game and everything is fair game but the load times killed me so sometimes Sims 2 which loads so quickly even with custom content is easier. I always think by the time I can afford a computer which will run the latest sims game well they’ll have brought out a new version, makes it cheaper for me, though.

                1. Kristen Burns

That is definitely some serious determination. Mmm, yeah, the time it takes to load a game up is ridiculous, and I have so much CC that making new sims takes forever because of the loading time for each outfit, but I still prefer the gameplay of Sims 3. And yep, exactly, by waiting we’ll get everything cheaper πŸ˜€

  15. Deborah

We get cyclones here in Australia, rather than tornadoes. I never fully understand the difference I have to admit! Thankfully we’ve escaped them this summer which is good.

Oh and I’m not great at reading more than one book at once… unless one is a lengthy audiobook I’m only listening to when travelling or something!

    1. Kristen Burns

Well, here in the US, hurricanes are the big storms with wind and rain and all that where tornadoes are the spinning funnel looking things. I believe cyclones are generally the same as hurricanes, but then I’m not sure if tornadoes are ever called cyclones too over there.

I’ve seen so many people talk about reading multiple books that I’m surprised to find out so many people are the same as me!

  16. Michelle @ FaerieFits

That’s so funny with the hotel thing! I actually experienced something similar a couple of years ago. I discovered a really crappy version of Marble Drop, which was a sort of puzzle game I was obsessed with as a kid. Every level had mechanical things that direct how the marbles will fall, and your goal is to get the right colored marbles in the right spot. The faster you do it (the more marbles you’re able to get going at once) the more points you get. But you only get so many marbles in one go, and if the wrong color ends up in the wrong spot it disintegrates. I LOVED it! Unfortunately, just being able to get it installed on the computer doesn’t mean my computer actually LIKED it, and it kept glitching out on me. But still, the short time I had with it was great πŸ˜€

  17. Jane @ Raincity Librarian

HA! That reminds me of all the computer games I used to play as a child. My uncle was a major computer nerd, and whenever his nieces and nephews visited he’d always pull out his newest computer game to show off. I’ll always remember “The Journeyman Project Turbo” – you played a time traveller who had to save the universe, but we struggled to manage the controls well enough to get our hero out of his apartment without banging into every wall. Oh the ’90s…. πŸ™‚

  18. Barb (boxermommyreads)

That sounds like a fun game, and like one which I would get so wrapped up in I could do nothing else. I used to play Pet Hotel on my Kindle, but finally weaned myself off of it after I realized how much it interfered with my reading. Older games can be great thought and over Christmas break, I started playing Adventure Time on PS4. Of course it was sad that at times I was having problems solving some of the puzzles. Great shot of your new book and I’m really glad you enjoyed it. I struggle anytime I ever read more than one book at a time.

    1. Kristen Burns

It’s definitely one of those games that sucks hours out of your life lol, but it also gets old pretty fast, especially since it does interfere with my reading. I’ve never played Adventure Time, but I was always terrible at video games, so I’d probably be even worse. Thanks!

  19. Laurie @ Bark's Book Nonsense

I’m glad you dodged the tornadoes! What is up with the crazy weather patterns lately. We’ve been having such a strange winter here in the northeast.

I used to play Doctor Mario when I was young. It was the only game I was halfway good at πŸ˜‰ I hear they’ve brought it back in some new version that the boys want but I’m almost afraid to revisit it because then I will get NOTHING done!

Have a great week of reading πŸ™‚

    1. Kristen Burns

Thanks! And I have no clue. It’s concerning, this crazy weather.

I’ve never played that. I’ve never been good at most video games though, I liked the slower-paced computer ones lol. But all these games are such time-suckers!

  20. Danya @ Fine Print

Totally agree, 90s computer games are the best! I didn’t actually play any games in the 90s because my family didn’t own a computer until the 2000s (lol) but I played Zoo Tycoon a ton in high school and loved it.

Only 14 review books??? You’re killing it, Kristen! I’m beginning to think that I’ll always be behind on my review books…oh well, it’s not exactly a bad problem to have! πŸ˜€

    1. Kristen Burns

My family got a computer mid-90s, so that’s probably also why those games have so much nostalgia for me, they were the first things I ever played or really used a computer for! And Zoo Tycoon was so awesome!

Thanks! Agreed, of all the problems out there, too many books is not a bad one πŸ˜‰

  21. Let's Get Beyond Tolerance

That’s awesome you have time to read other books. I’m trying to get through some more of my review copies so I can read more of my own books too. I’m loving the review books though! πŸ™‚

    -Lauren

    1. Kristen Burns

Review copies are great! It’s just also nice to be able to read other books sometimes, especially since there are some I’ve really been itching to read.

  22. Wren

“But I’m actually down to just 14 review copies, guys! 14!”

Whoa I am jealous!!!! So many review copies!

Also tornadoes scare me so much, I remember when I was younger my family tried getting me to watch a documentary on tornadoes thinking it would help me get over my fear. It just made it worse haha.

    1. Kristen Burns

Haha, but having too many review copies at once stresses me out because of deadlines and I feel bad if I take too long and sometimes I just want to read other books.

I feel like forcing people to learn more about the thing they’re afraid of always backfires lol.

  23. Cee Arr

OMG me and brother loooove Theme Hospital – it’s just sooooo random! (I always stick as many toilets and bins in as I possibly can, because of all the rubbish and puking that inevitably happens if you don’t, lol!)

Yay, someone else who plays! It is so random and strange lol. I swear I have like 9 handymen on the level I’m on right now, all of them with priority set to cleaning because the hospital was just overrun with trash and puke for a while -_-

We have tornadoes or tornado warnings pretty regularly where I live. I HATE it. It so scary and nerve-racking. I used to play The Sims and Rollarcoaster Tycoon! I loved those games. I was playing The Sims on my phone a little in 2015. It was just as fun as I remembered. πŸ™‚

I can see why that’s nerve-wracking, I would never want to live where there are tornadoes! Those games were the best! I still love The Sims, although I play Sims 3 now. I’d love to play the original again just for nostalgia!

Oh my goodness! Tornado warnings? That’s INSANE! I’m glad you’re okay! Maybe the water system will be fixed by being buffeted by high winds? πŸ˜‰

Oh my gosh! I totally used to play The Sims, Rollercoaster Tycoon, Zoo Tycoon and even Theme hospital!!! Bahaha. I can’t imagine what the graphics would look like to me now. Not that I get to play games anymore – but I know what CGI has done in that time!

90’s computer games are the best!!!

Well done on hitting that review pile! That’s so awesome!

Sorry it took me so long to get around this week – crazy stuff! Hope you’re having a good one and can’t wait to catch up some more!

P.S. I started Black Snow last night. πŸ™‚

Ha, no, the water was finally working well and then suddenly it’s started acting weird again today -_- But it still seems to be ok. I’ll be moving in a couple months anyway, and then it won’t even matter anymore.

Oh my goodness, we’re like kindred spirits! We played all the same games! No one I know in real life played these, this is so fun finding other people who also played lol. The terrible graphics are part of the fun though πŸ˜›

Thanks! And no worries, you’re allowed to be busy sometimes πŸ™‚

Yay! Do you like it so far? Looking forward to your thoughts!

Oh no!!!! Ugh – I hope the move goes smoothly when it’s time!

I can’t believe we played all the same games! That’s awesome. I also liked Sim Tower – you build a tower with apartments and retail stuff and… Other things I can’t remember. That was also great. πŸ™‚

Black Snow is good so far! I have a few small issues with it but nothing that is putting me off at the moment. I’m only 10 or so % through but I’m enjoying it.

Thanks, I’m actually really stressed about it :-/

Ooh I never played Sim Tower, but I’m sure I’d have loved it lol.

Glad you like it so far πŸ™‚
