Update: Life and Books (Apr 2020)

So. Another month of social distancing and staying home. How's everyone doing? I'm not super affected by the staying home thing since that's just my normal life (because chronic illness), but I am feeling all the stress of everything. It's still difficult to get all the food and supplies I need from the store. I still worry about my grandparents getting sick. I still worry about someone in my...

Random Musings: Free and Cheap Software I Use for Blogging, Organization, Art, and Other Needs

This is a post I've been wanting to write a for a while, and this seemed like a good time for it. I'm sure a lot of people are struggling with finances right now and looking for ways to cut costs. Anyway, because of my own situation, I've had to find ways to do the things I love on a budget. So I thought I'd share some of the cheaper or free alternatives I use for things like blogging and...

Update: Life and Books (Mar 2020)

Ugh. Part of me didn't even feel like making this post because I'm just so full of stress and anxiety, as I'm sure we all are. If you want to skip the next couple paragraphs for your mental health, I won't blame you. It's just me griping and worrying, no serious news. Anyway, if you want some non-virus goodness, I've also been sharing a lot of pictures of birds and squirrels on my Twitter...

Update: Life and Books (Feb 2020)

So, February is over, and it's been... a month. Not a good one, not a particularly worse than usual one, just a month, for me, at least. I tried three weeks of physical therapy for my weird nerve problem in my forehead, but I don't know if it's helped at all, and I'm just completely exhausted. My body can't take leaving the house that much. I'm going to try continuing with using a TENS machine...

Update: Life and Books (Jan 2020) + Song & Game Recs!

I don't feel like talking about my health problems and doctor appointments, so I guess I'll use this intro to talk about the things I've been listening to, since that's all I've been able to do lately. I've started two more nonfiction podcasts! One is Sex Stories, a podcast where a woman interviews different people on their experiences, thoughts, etc. about sex, and I'm finding it really...

Love to Listen: 5 Funny SFF Podcasts to Check Out – Gay Future, Alba Salix: Royal Physician, Mission to ZYXX, & More

I've recently started listening to podcasts, and guess what: They're great! Well, at least, the ones I've been listening to are great. And, as you may have guessed from the title, they're also funny, and they're sci-fi/fantasy. (I have a brand, and I stick to it. What can I say.) One of these (Gay Future) I thought was hilarious from the start. One of these (Roommate from Hell) never quite...

Random Musings: The Mouse Utopia-Turned-Dystopia that Sounds Like a YA Book & Other Interesting Facts I’ve Learned Lately

If you've visited my blog lately, you probably know I've been having health problems, and because of those problems, I've had to find some new ways to entertain myself all day. One of the things I've found is nonfiction podcasts and YouTube videos with interesting facts about history, science, and all sorts of random things! Some facts have been so interesting that they've stuck out and stayed...

Update: Life and Books (Oct 2019)

Still no good news about health stuff. Head problem isn't any better, and the neurologist doesn't have a clue. None of my other problems are any better either, but that's no surprise. And as if I didn't already have enough problems and injuries my body can't heal, I hurt my foot the other day. So what have I been doing to keep myself occupied since I still can't read or really used...

Update: Life and Books (Sep 2019)

I'll start this post by getting the bad news out of the way. My face muscle/headache problem is still not better. I'm still waiting for a neurology appointment, but they're probably not going to find anything. So I don't know what's going to happen with my problem, and I don't know what's going to happen with my...
