Review:
This was the third and final book in the trilogy, so even though I wasn’t blown away by the first two, I wanted to read this one because I wanted to know how everything would end, especially after the way the second book ended.
It was interesting seeing the fallout from the things that happened in Book 2, and I thought the plot was once again solid and unpredictable at times, albeit pretty slow-paced.
As for the characters, their voices sounded a little stronger this time, so that was good. But, maybe because the first person POV didn’t work for me and I never got that invested in them in the earlier books, I still didn’t feel that much for them. I didn’t dislike them though—they were still characters you could root for.
I was glad the disability stayed realistic through to the end since I was still concerned it might be cured with magic. And Edie still had her scars.
So overall, not a bad series—it had some unpredictability and surprises that I appreciated, and the plot was good—but I guess it wasn’t quite for me since I never really felt much depth or emotion from the characters. Anyone who likes plot-focused books may enjoy it more though.

Fans of Books 1 and 2 in Erin Hayes's Harker Trilogy. Anyone who likes urban fantasy, vampires, and unpredictable plots.

Not really xD When I don’t feel anything for the characters I basically don’t even root for them or sometimes even end up rooting for the villains :p I know, I’m a bad reader xD I am impressed you read the whole series though, and I am glad the disability rep stayed strong and the character voices even improved in this last book. Not a bad way to end on the series, it seems.
You root for the villain, haha, I love it. What happened with this one was I got the first two as review copies, so then I figured I might as well finish since I was invested enough to want to know that ending. It wasn’t like it was terrible, just kind of lacking in oomph for me.
I’m impressed that you finished a trilogy that was just ok for you. I think I would have stopped after the first book, but I know sometimes series get better as they go along, so I totally understand wanting to finish😁

That reminds me that I still haven’t read this one. It sounds like a good ending to the series and that’s good the disability didn’t get magically cured as I was wondering about that too.Too bad you couldn’t fully connect with the character,s but at least the plot sounds well done.

Yay for a disability sticking around ’til the end in any kind of fantasy read because the magical cure is annoying. Glad to hear the series managed to pack in a couple of surprises for you too, I hate when things get too predictable because you only get bored. It just sucks you didn’t enjoy it more.
