Since I’m posting this on Easter, I wanted to do something slightly-but-not-overly Easter-y. This holiday makes me think of spring, which makes me think of flowers, so here we are, book covers featuring flowers!
Honestly flowers are just so pretty on their own that I didn’t have to try too hard to find pretty covers that featured them. These covers aren’t the style that I usually end up with when I do these posts, but this just might be one of the most visually beautiful collections of covers yet!
I love how so many of these have a similar design with a clump of flowers and plants and then text (or in one case, a sword) in the middle, yet they all look so different and unique. Although I’m also a fan of asymmetry, so I love the asymmetric design of We Awaken too.
And ALL of these have such great use of color. I especially love the color combo on The Antidote. The contrast is amazing and it seems like those colors shouldn’t work together, but they do.
And I love how some of these manage to have quite a dark vibe to them, despite flowers generally being such light, cheery, colorful things. (Well, not all flowers. I just learned the other week that there’s a flower called the vampire orchid! And while looking them up to find a good link, I just discovered there are a whole bunch of creepy looking flowers, including bat orchids!)
If I absolutely had to pick favorites from this bunch, it would probably be The Antidote and We Awaken, but I honestly love them all!
I think Two Princes of Summer and A Treason of Thorns are my faves here. Both kinda have that similar look even though one’s a lot darker than the other. Both are fabulous though. I also like The Goblins of Bellwater a lot.
We Awaken and Blue Lily are nice too.
Speaking of darker flowers, I’m surprised we don’t have more plant- based horror.
Two Princes, Treason of Thorns, and Goblins all have the same kinda design and yet manage to look so different, I love it.
Those two are so pretty!
Maybe cuz it’s hard to make plants scary? Idk, I’m usually a wimp, but I watched that horror movie… The Ruins, I think it was? in high school, where people are attacked by plants, and I just couldn’t take it seriously lol.
Yeah I can see that. I watched the old Day of the Triffids (granted it’s ancient) and it was hard… to be horrified by these ridiculous plant things lolol.
Lol it might be possible, but yeah, seems difficult to actually make plants scary in a book or movie, unless maybe they can chase you.
Honestly, even though I love the flower artwork, I find a lot of the covers too busy. I like The Antidote and We Awaken but the flowers on Shadowsong are particularly striking to me.
That’s fair. Having them all together like this makes them look even busier, but I kinda dig the visual chaos! It’s like an overgrown garden XD I’ve always loved the Wintersong/Shadowsong covers!
Squeee! I love flowers on the cover, and am always amazed by how many you find to feature. I just put together my first cover-love kind of post, and it took me quite a while. So, gold star to you. Wicked Like a Wildfire was one I featured one year for most beautiful cover. I like the use and placement of the flowers, as well as the colors chosen. They are all really striking and pretty, though.
It does take a while to put these together, I’m glad someone appreciates my work, haha. I can definitely see why you’d feature that one, it’s beautiful!
These are all so beautiful. The one that caught my eye the most is the Awakening
That one just really catches my eye too!
Lovely picks, Kristen! I especially adore Blue Lily, Lily Blue and Two Princes of Summer- the shades of blue they employed are just gorgeous! <3
Both of those are so pretty, and I do love those shades of blue!
These are sooo beautiful!! I love covers with flowers it really draws me to the book!!

Something about them is enchanting!
I love these! I think my favorites are The Goblins of Bellwater and A Treason of Thorns. I love the way the artist has mixed the vibrant flowers with a dark, menacing background😁
Those are both gorgeous, and I also love the menacing feel of them!
Book with flowers on the cover are always so pretty. I love all the different designs one can create with flowers. *.* I bought The Goblins of Bellwater a few months ago and I can’t wait to finally read it.
Happy readings! 😉

They really are so versatile! Goblins of Bellwater is the only one on this list that I’ve actually read, and I loved it, so I hope you do too!
Who knew that flowers could be on so many different books? I was expecting to see some contemporary reads or something, which would be a surprise as I know fantasy is far more your style. There are some very pretty ones here, I have always liked the cover for The Goblins of Bellwater, it’s the colour on the dark background which does it. And The Traitor’s Kiss is stunning too.
Psh I can always find SFF books 😉 I’ve always liked that one too, and these are all so stunning!
These are all such lovely covers. The ones that really caught my eye are We Awaken and 13 Ways to Midnight.
I love flowers on book covers. I find they can be so expressive of the mood of a book. Bright flowers, dark flowers, wilting flowers….love it.
Yay, glad you like We Awaken too! Were you the one who reviewed 13 Ways to Midnight? I feel like it was someone’s review that brought that one to my attention, but it’s so pretty!
You’re right, flowers can be used to express so many different moods!
I actually hadn’t heart of 13 Ways to Midnight until this post
Oops, then it must’ve been someone else!
These are so pretty! I love flowers, so I think I’m drawn to covers that have them.
I can see why you’re drawn to flowers on covers, they’re gorgeous!
I love flowers on covers! They are my absolute favorite thing. My favorite is when they are illustrated. It’s my weaknesses. I will almost always add those books to my TBR. I’m weak. LOL
Hahaha we all have our cover weaknesses 😉 I can see why flowers is yours!
Oh wow, these are some beautiful covers. I didn’t realize so many book covers had flowers. LOL I really do love Blue Lily!
-Lauren
I’m glad you like them too!
Wow, these covers are stunning! I don’t think I’ve seen The Goblins of Bellwater before but out of all of them that’s the cover that totally catches my eye.
It’s a great cover and a great book!
I love the dark vibes these covers have. I haven’t read any of these, but I want to read them based on the covers alone. Shadowsong and We Awaken are my favorites.
Some of these do have such great dark vibes. I’ve only read one, but I want to read some more of these too!
OMG in love with all these covers! I own that edition of Blue Lily. Lily Blue but i think Wicked like A Wildfire looks the prettiest!
They’re both so gorgeous!
I adore the 13 Ways to Midnight cover as well as A Treason of Thorns because of the darkness. Great covers and thanks for the kind thoughts and wishes this week 🙂 Happy Belated Birthday too!
I love the darkness of Treason of Thorns! No problem, and thank you 🙂
SO MANY PRETTY COVERS IN ONE POST. I might go crazy. The Goblins of Bellwater is on my wishlist ever since your review for the book. I just reread Blue Lily, Lily Blue this month and it is my favourite of the Raven Cycle books. Oh, and I also like the cover of Shadowsong but I really didn’t enjoy Wintersong so I doubt I’ll ever read it 😛
I KNOW, RIGHT??? It’s beautiful chaos. You need to read The Goblins of Bellwater, and I need to read the Raven Cycle lol. Oh no! I think I remember you not liking that one. I still want to try it though!
I LOVE these covers!!!! Great picks!
Thanks!
Now you’ve hit my cover catnip lol
Another book that used flowers well was Heather Demetrios – Bad Romance. The flowers are dead but along with the story subject, it makes a big impact.
And I have The Antidote and it’s even prettier in person.
Karen @ For What It’s Worth
Oh yes, I remember that cover, it’s a great one too!
Ahhh I can’t imagine it being even prettier!
My two favorites are We Awaken & A Treason of Thorns. I love how flowers can express so many moods on a cover and hint at the story within. Great selection of covers Kristen! ❤️🥀♥️
Those are so gorgeous! It is really cool how flowers can express all different moods. Thanks!
These are all so pretty. I’m drawn to that Wicked Like a Wildflower cover every time I see it.
I don’t blame you, it’s so pretty!
I really love the cover for Blue Lily, Lily Blue! I also really enjoyed the series. It’s one of my favorites! Have you read all of them? Wicked Like Wildfire is one I’ve been meaning to read. Maybe I’ll have time soon!
Lindsi @ Do You Dog-ear? 💬
It’s super gorgeous! I haven’t read that series yet, but I want to! The only book on this list that I’ve read so far is The Goblins of Bellwater, but I loved that one!
These are gorgeous and you’re right in that even though they feature pretty flowers, most of these covers have quite a foreboding vibe to them
It is very cool how they were able to do that with flowers!
