Book Review: The Eve (The Eden Trilogy Book 3) by Keary Taylor

For the first time since The Evolution, the colony has a plan and humanity actually has a chance to beat the Bane. The scientists and leaders at New Eden work on building what they need, Eve, Avian, West, and others go on a mission of their own to get supplies and find Eve's sister, and everyone hopes for the best but prepares for the worst as they get ready for their last shot at a future.

Review:

This book had me on an emotional rollercoaster toward the end, but the rest of the book was a little more subdued than the previous one in terms of action, and the emotions were different, more toward the hopeful and positive side. But I was still just as invested in the characters and just as hooked wanting to know how things were going to play out.

This book, much like the others, continued to make me think about the concept of humanity (all that stuff I talked about in my review of Book 2 and a little in my review of Book 1), but this one, in a way, brought things full circle, just as Eve said. However, even when it brought things full circle and they did something good, it still wasn’t exactly cut and dry, and it left me pondering things even more. Were the main characters really any better than the scientists? Or rather, were the scientists really any worse people than the main characters? Was anyone really to blame for what happened to the world? Was everyone to blame? Do intentions make a difference, or is it only the outcome that matters?

In the end, all the loose ends were tied up, and this book brought a satisfying conclusion to a series full of realistic, likeable characters, emotional situations, and thought-provoking depth that I’m really glad I read!

I like the more hopefull feel in the end of a book or series, especially in dystopia’s. It’s nice to see all the fighting has paid off. It’s great when a book series ends with a bang and it sounds like this book did that with the emotional rollercoaster towards the end. It’s interesting how this book makes you think of humanity and good and evil like that. I am glad this was a good endign to the series 🙂

Yeah, as much I do enjoy reading about all the hardships, hopeful endings are always nice 🙂 The book had me on the verge of tears at a few points though, so definitely emotional!
