Review:

*I received an ecopy of this book via Edelweiss. This has not influenced my review.*

Another fantastic book! This is definitely becoming one of my favorite series. The writing style, the way that Colleen Gleason has with words, the realistic characters and relationships, the juiciness, the subtle humor, and the sexual tension were all great, yet again. I think those things are kind of just a given in this series, and I love knowing that that’s what I’m going to get every time I open one of these books.

But there were also some things about this book specifically that had me excited. For one, *SPOILER* Victoria finally had some sort of romantic moment with Max… *END SPOILER* but I still have no idea if she’ll actually end up with him. And that’s yet another thing I love, the way the romance always keeps me guessing, and that Victoria has had numerous suitors she’s been interested in but is still taking her time and not rushing into things. But also, *SPOILER* she and you-know-who were wearing each others’ vis bullae! Tell me that’s not the most adorable thing ever!!! *END SPOILER* I was squealing on the inside the entire time I was reading the book for that reason.

Another great thing is that these books continue to surprise me. There were more twists this time that I definitely had not figured out, but they made sense.

The only thing I really disliked was the prophecy aspect. I just don’t care for prophecies in books. And the climax ended up being somewhat anti-climactic, especially compared to Book 2. But I suppose, even though that’s what the plot was technically about, the story itself was about Victoria, her character development, and her romantic relationships, and those things were great, so the climax scene wasn’t all that important to me anyway.

Overall, this was another gripping and wonderfully written book in the series, and I’m very much looking forward to continuing!

It’s been ages since I read this series. I think this was one was as far as I got. I need to get back to it–maybe even reread the first three. I’m so glad you enjoyed it!

I just finished the fifth book today, which is the end of Victoria’s story! I thought the whole series was great. So if you liked the first three, I definitely think you should continue 🙂 Thanks!

This sounds interesting, the sentence where you sum up the great things this book has definitely makes me curious. You know how much I love realistic characters and relationships.

That’s nice Victoria isn’t rushing into things, although it does always makes me curious who a character end up with in such a situation. That’s nice the guy you want her to end up with got some sort of romantic with her in this book.

I am not a fan of prophecies either, I will still read books with them in it, but they aren’t my favorite trope/ topic.

I just checked on amazon and I apparently have the first book in this series, huh can’t remember buying it. probably got it a freebie once. Well that’s good to know I have book 1.

Yeah, I got the first book as a freebie too. And I kind of put off reading it for a while, not sure it would interest me, and now here I am lol. I actually just finished the fifth and final book in Victoria’s story today but obviously haven’t posted all the reviews yet. The characters and relationships are fantastic, but I don’t know if you might struggle with the first book as it’s rather heart-wrenching, and you’ve mentioned you don’t like books that are too negatively emotional. The series is significantly lighter after that though. And the whole unpredictable aspect has been one of the best things.

As for prophecies, I tend to avoid books that I KNOW have them, like if it’s in the blurb, but if it comes into the book later, especially if it’s kind of a small part, I can deal with it.

Sounds like a good series. And I like when books keep surprising you. Excellent review!! I’ll have to add this series to my To Read list for sure!

It is a good series! And yeah, the way it has continued to be fairly unpredictable has been one of the great things about it. I definitely support your decision to add it to your TBR 😛
